Start a dog walking service
You could start a dog walking service. You must have experience with dogs and be very responsible. Dogs are valuable.
You could start by asking neighbours if they would like their dogs walking. Look out for elderly neighbours or those at work who are unable to walk their dogs.
An advert could be placed in a shop window and great fun can be had just drawing up the advert.
SAFETY FIRST Parents should check the advert and also check where the child is going and whose dog they are taking in every case.
Age Concern may also be able to help here both with contacts and placing adverts
Charge either 50p or a £1 a time but make sure you give value for money and then you will get repeat business.
Talking about business don't forget that you now have to clean up any dog poo or you could be fined up to £1000. This is no problem if you carry a pooper-scooper or a plastic carrier bag - yes you can easily pick it up without touching it! You can then pop it in a dustbin.
It is a good idea to carry an old shoulder bag or similar to carry the wrapped poos in and then you will forget you have even got it.
Sorry to put in this bit but it is a fact of life that dogs do poo!
Anyway it's only a small part of the dog walking and remember you will be getting paid for it.
Remember to keep the dogs on a lead unless you know them very well and know they will not run off or be vicious. It's very embarrassing to return to the dog's owner dragging a dogless lead behind you!
