Ice skating
If there is an ice rink in your neighbourhood you may find they offer special fun sessions in addition to the normal public sessions. Children's parties are also a feature but need to be booked in advance.
Disco on ice is often available usually on Friday or Saturday nights.
Admission is around £2.50 with around  £1 charged for skate hire.
For the more serious skater "patch ice" sessions are usually available in the early mornings and around tea times. During these sessions lessons are usually available from professionals at around £4 per quarter of an hour. Hockey skates are not permitted on these sessions and you will find some of the youngsters are of a very high standard - but everyone has to start somewhere.
For those interested in ice hockey - taster sessions are usually available
