Bike ride
Organise a bike ride for yourself

 Safety First
You really need to be wearing crash protective headware like a helmet for safety reasons.
If you don't want to put on a helmet think that professional cyclists wear them and they are good!  If it's a hot day, take sunscreen and a drink. You should always tell adults where they are going, and an estimated home arrival time agreed.

You can plan where you are going by studying a map- available from the nearest library.
Don't be too ambitious if you haven't been on a bike for a while!
You may like to plan a route visiting friends (collect some up on the way!)  or grandmas.
You may want to take a picnic too, or buy some food on the way. It's a good idea to include a shop on the route in any case- you know children like shops!

You will probably come across some interesting things, so take something to carry any exciting finds in.  You will see a lot more by bike than in the car.  Look out for interesting wild flowers, birds or mammals.  If you do the same trip now and in a month's time, there will be lots of differences.

Don't forget-
Helmets, sun protection or waterproof clothing if necessary, money, a drink, map if necessary, mobile phone and possibly camera and notebook, carrier bag.

Associated  Activities
Buy and make picnic food, make a record in a notebook of things seen on the route, make your own map, keep a diary of the day, plan more trips.
