Make a collage
Get your child to collect as much assorted material as you can -scraps of paper, fabrics, wool, wood, cardboard, any bits and pieces people are throwing out, and make them into a picture.  It cab be abstract (a pattern) or a picture.  Move the bits round till you get them right, then stick onto thick paper, or use a cereal packet. You could make a flower and cut it out, or a car, a tree or a house. You'll probably have lots more ideas- start collecting now!

Associated ideas- photo collage
If you have a lot more photos than will fit into an album, you might be allowed to make a large collage of them. You can just overlap them, or cut out bits- people for example- you could make some amusing ones- all the family sat on the roof, for example, or lots of people in a circular pattern.  IMPORTANT - ask members of the family first eg grandma, grandad ect.
